The wrong in my eyes.

Scripture:

In those days Israel had no king; all the people did whatever seemed right in their own eyes. Judges 25:29

Obsveration:

This is stated over and over again as I read the book of Judges. It is clear that as Israel was doing what was right in there own eyes, they were doing wrong in the eyes of God. The judgment of the people of Israel at the time was just plain bad. Their conscience, their internal right and wrong compass, pointed south instead of north.

Application:

I can’t count on what I want to do being the right thing to do. Instead I must take the choices in my life and line them up with what God has already told me is right and wrong in the Scriptures and if the choice is not clearly Biblically right or wrong I should always take the time to pray and ask the Holy Spirit to guide my choices. Jesus is the King and I need to do what is right in His eyes.

Prayer:

God help me to allow You to be the one who guides me. I want to do what is right in Your eyes, not what is right in mine. Help me to live a holy life that pleases You. Amen.
